Default Getting permission from state parks?

Was doing some research online about MD in South Dakota State Parks and found you need a permit.

I was able to submit one online. Want to search the beach area at our local state part.

https://gfp.sd.gov/applications/Meta.../MDPermit.aspx

Anyone else been able to search there state park? How did it go for you?

I have looked around the Arkansas state parks website and I have not seen this form. Good luck and I hope you get it approved.

Here in Oklahoma I went to the manager of each state park and got a 2 page " Oklahoma tourism and recreation department - use permit " talked to each and explained what I wanted to do and how I pickup trash and leave the area cleaner when I'm finished .

some where nice and interested and some had been burnt letting people in digging so took a little talking . Main thing I was told was help educate if I meet someone else... about filling in holes . That was their concern the way someone else tore the ground up like a buch of rutting hogs before .

asked 5 state places , got 5 permits , but 1 has limits till they can see how it looks from plugs , then if everything is good after a few months , I'll get a full permit for the whole park. and another place said no deeper then 4 inches.

one place in ark, said " sure " but no digging .
so I been trying the screwdriver thang....and I don't like it....

also got a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the same way , talking and explaining/calling/showing up and a little help from pojotex.

left my cell # with them all and said feel free to call , I've gotten, 2 calls already about holes, wasn't me but I went over and checked it out , filled in the holes and explained my thoughts on why these people are hunting that area and that I "will not hide to hunt" . Unfortunatly now they are giving out tickets without a permit, but a permit is FREE so why not get it if your not trying to hide anything.

hope that helps.

Wisconsin state owned land is off limits, For now, As for state parks. Yeah, Permit. BUT it's only good for a specific object you must disclose and anything else must be turned in. Once the specific item listed has been found, It must be shown to park officials and then the permit is void. Even the sand UNDER the water within a state park beach is off limits. HOW can this be I must ask. Digging produces no ill effects and all it does is clean the area of pull tabs, pop tops and the like. Things that can injure swimmers. Oh well, I'll just bide my time and see what happens. Maybe I'll just drive to the gate and explain myself to the gate attendant and show him my "conservation patron's " Park pass.

Do us a favor, keep filling holes if you find them, we can't afford anymore restrictions. It would help us a lot.

I got permission to hunt the national forest area in North Eastern Nv! They said I don't need permits. The first ranger I talked said oh ya its no prob nobody cares, said he goes all the time. The secretary wanted me to talk to the geologist. Geologist said its no prob, just fill in any holes and stay away from camp sites where people r camping. So I'm trying to plan a trip up to the mountain lakes, hope there is some good stuff! Haven't tried parks yet.

Default Missouri State Parks

Missouri also has on line applications for state parks, you only are allowed to hunt at select parks and mostly by river banks. the permits are good for one year and free.

In Minnesota all state land is off limits. I tryed asking once if i could go along the side of a state trail and got a big "No, but thanks for asking" , In iowa, all state land is a no go as well accept for state park beaches. They have certain restrictions such as you can only hunt 4am-11am between may and september, and the catch with that is each state park's beach opens at different times, some open at 6:30, others may not open until 8:30 which is better than not being able to detect, but for us working people, its tough as i have to be at work in the mornings.

Good to know. I'm only 10 miles from the Minnesota boarder.
A lot of Minnesota rules stink compared to South Dakota.

In Georgia state parks are off limits, if caught prison time, and a huge fine. Probably because of newbies digging crater holes.

here in PA each state park is different...some are fair game, some require a permit, some are off limits......its all up the director of the park.

That's great! Enjoy what's been left behind. I have not asked here in Louisiana. There is so much to look over the state park is the last place in mind. It would be nice to have that area as a fall back place.

I emailed the State Park admin. They said call the state park and they will issue a permit. Sounded pretty easy.

I have hunted a State park before, just didn't dig. Surface stuff...

I have the email if interested. Might help.
