I made it myself, I bent it myself (well, with a little help from a big wave), and then today I fixed it myself! And next week I plan on UPGRADING it myself...
![]() I'm sure you all saw the thread where I converted a bendover scoop to a long handle scoop, if not - http://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=117223 - and I used it pretty hard for a few weeks and then one day a wave hit me while I was pushing it into the sand. I put a pretty good bend into it. I took it into work today and went in early so I could use the vice and a few other tools I don't have at home (remember, I live in a motorhome) and I got it straightened out almost good as new. Next week I plan on re-enforcing it somehow. Probably some sheet metal and pop rivets. But today while I was fixing it I decided to take the magnets out and clean them off as they have collected tiny little fragments of rusty metal flakes... BEFORE ![]() ![]() AFTER ![]() I use 3/4 inch Rare Earth magnets positioned around the scoop like so: ![]() __________________ |
