Went to a favorite park where I had hunted to death with my Etrac and Explorer SE Pro. I wanted to see if I could squeak any good finds out here with my CTX. all targets with the exception of the silver dimes were very deep. 8-11 inches. The 1917 mercury dime was in the hole with 2 nails.
![]() Old Pocket spill of 4 Indian head cents. Dated from 1867-1888. Never found an Indian head spill. Can't believe the Etrac missed this. I also found a lone 1893 Indian too. ![]() I got an 11-37 at 11inches deep that produced that thunk sound when you sweep over it. Etrac users are familiar with this. Dug down and way down in the hole a thin copper coin that I think is a half-cent. It's toasted but I can read HALF on it. A first for me! Cool! My total finds: A mercury dime and 2 Roosevelt silver dimes 1953 and 1960. A childs sterling ring, a plated religious medallion dated 1908 in Roman Numerials. A neat small skeleton key and what I think is a half-cent and a 1909 Wheat.all from a small area I had been over many many times. This CTX is a staggering machine.

Great finds, congrats on the tribe of Indians. I wonder if before digging that spill of deep Indians what the e-trac would have sounded like, junk sounding target or no sound at all. You proved the CTX gets targets the e-trac missed.

I'm sure it would have made some sort of signal. I find that the FE numbers don't budge much on really deep signals. The Etrac will have FE numbers all over the place on a deep target but the CTX they stay at the 11-12 FE line which really helps to determine if it's a deep coin

I always look forward to your posts featuring silver from the parks, as I love detecting places like that, automatic for a keeper or 2...You dug like a dozen keepers, good for you now!...Congratulations on a great hunt!

Nice little outing! That medalion is pretty cool, not to mention a good selection of coins. Hopefully we can get another little group hunt going again. HH
