Default KT buys again today!

KT completed his 3rd chemo treatment yesterday...good that He had a number of nice folks to visit with...it made the 5 1/2 hours in the chair pass faster....that and a nap in the middle of the run!

Today KT goes back in at 3:30 pm to get the follow up run of 1.5 hours. But before that He will go by the bank around 1 am and pick up his next 5 boxes of halves. Knowing they are waiting for him to return to the Castle and start ripping them this afternoon will keep KT alert and optimistic for a good day and outcome!

This morning, KT will start a project at the Castle, sorting out from 35 years, the camping gear and organizing, then packing and storing in a better manner than in the past...previously it was scattered and haphazardly stored in 3 different places, depending on the generation and types of trips. This time it will be all the sleeping bags together, all the cooking equipment, all the tents together, tarps, bag pads, etc. Then it is all going to get stored in one spot for ease of access in clear and content labeled storage boxes (snap lids).

This is all in prep for KT's coming retirement in 18 to 24 months.

Anywho, when KT has the results for the 5 box hunt it will be posted, probably by Saturday morning, with pics in this thread!

HH to all and HCRHing to those who do it!

Good luck on the hunt, KT. I searched one box last night and found one silver- '66. And with two more skunk boxes tonight, that puts my current slump at 3- 40% silvers over the last twelve boxes/ 24,000 halves.

Certianly, not every box hunter on this forum can be in a slump at one time. The bright side is that I have had fun dumping on BOA. I had a teller make a stinkie face at me as I presented her with $200 in rolled halves. Ahhh, that was priceless.

Okay, I am in a branch today for work, and I ask about halves. Only one teller has any and she has three. I buy them sight unseen, and one of them is a '67. So let me get this straight, I have searched 24,000 halves over the last month and found only 3- 40%, and on a whim I find 1- 40% out of 3 halves.

Hmmm, 3 out of 24,000 and 1 out of 3. I really think this hobby will drive me to drink.

Default OK everyone, here's The Good KingTotsalot hunt report

So hyped up on those steroids last night, KT ripped through those 5 boxes in 4 hours...thats opening the boxes, ripping the rolls in hundred dollar lots and sorting them! HA HA Boy, the King thinks those are GOOD Drugs!

OK, here's the report!
Box 1 - 4 NIFCs
Box 2 - 2 40%ers, 7 NIFCs
Box 3 - SKUNK! PEEYOU!!
Box 4 - 1 Proof (2002S NIFC), 1 Gold Plated, 2 NIFCs, 1 mint error
Box 5 - 2 40%ers, 2 NIFCs

Not a super hunt but 4 40%ers, a really nice proof, 3rd gold plated half in the collection (), 15 NIFCs....and KT is especially pleased with the strange mint error....a cud that is below Kennedy's chin and makes him look like a fat 65 year old Kennedy! Seen the old Elvis stamp, well this looks like the old JFK...the coin was rough from the original stamp and that cud musta stuck up pretty high as it shows the most wear on the coin.

Here's the pics!

Thanks guys! My motivation was last years MDing hunts...I had great coinage totals and over $650 cash and some jewelry etc...but one thin 64 Rosie! Of course, from Totlots what should I expect, but they paid off so well....and KT just decided to gather some silver after reading others successful CRH hunts...The King's got his Royal Groove on now with this, and with the DR restricting his MDing until after the treatment.......this is the perfect outlet for The King's Frustrations at not getting at those Totlots! Just wait until this is over!

Anywho, KT wanted to also report that He got $3.25 overage from his dump machine today! Lovely!

Default KT

what years should i look for? i know 64 and prior are the silvers but what years are 40%? i would like to know what to look for and save, since my son was born in 1995 i had always gotten halves and dollars and put them in a big crayon looking bank, havnt gone through them yet but bet theres over 1000 bucks in coinage in there, when i bought stamps at post office from the machine i would stick a 20 dollar bill in and get a 20 stamp pack and the change i would get back was s.b. anthony and saq. dollars, also when i go to bank ill pick up halves that they have in tray by window, any help would be great, thanks KT, and i second you come to florida and try our beaches. I always have an extra room or ya can pitch a tent in my back yard anyway its great your doing good and congrats on your roll finds...GL+HH.....cliff.

KT was a mint error hunter for years and has all of them in flips...but this one is a really unusual lookin' Kennedy! HA HA KT bought loads of various nice mint errors off ebay before they got way to expensive for KT's tastes...one of these days, reckon He will have to decide to get rid of them too but they don't take up too much space...just one 5 lb album!

Default And now...

the finally dump today at the bank was dead even! not a coin overage...however, under the machine, KT looked and pulled a clad dime!

SO....overage total for the total dump was:.......$11.20...Queen will be happy with that as it is Her Royal Profit!
