Practice and learn in clear water! I've walked away from targets in super turbid water, and my xcal is an 800!

I have not use that coil but I do use a 12X15 SEF. They are a bit tough to pin point, you will have to find the loudest spot and turn 90 degrees and get the center. I saw your post when you said you just bought that machine. It will do you well but it will not swing well in the water at all unless you hunt calm water. Atlantic beaches have waves and currents. That big coil will wear you out really fast. It is a super combo for wet sand I hear. I look forward to seeing how you do. Good luck and HH!

Default I think I can handle it.

I think I can muscle it around. I am 29 and in really good shape, I am thinking of getting a larger scoop. But I luv my current scoop. It is 6.5 round 12 deep with a 54" handle. I was thinking of gettin one of those larger diamond shaped scoops, or just using the 8" coil till I learn how to pp with the wot.

Learn the coil on dry ground first. Lay a quarter and a dime on dry ground and see where your loudest point of the coil is. Place your foot to the rear of the coil and figure how far from there to place your scoop to start your dig. It will take practice which is much easier on dry ground. For the first hour or so I would dry sand hunt until you are familiar with the WOT coil and where it pinpoints.
