Default (UpDate) What A Week Oldies An Silvers On the notorius hunnie hole !!!!

****UPDATE**** i decided after looking at my 3rd 2 cent off this property it looked to be one of the best condition copper coins iv pulled out of the 150 off this property sofair so i cleaned it up with some hot soap soaking and a tooth pick and boy its it a buet. also after are buddy goes4ever took a look we found out 2 things my wifes blind an seeing things and the indian head fatty i found is accualy a 1859 WOOOT thanks goes4ever. heres some pictures of the 2 center.

well guys i havnt really had time to post on the last 3 hunts so now that i have time ill post em up first hunt was great i eather found my biggest coin spill to date or best peice of jewlry ill let you all decide. and found a few other keepsers on there as well enjoy. first day 6/9/12 i had a few hours after work so i spent 2 hours on the hunnie hole finding nothing much for the first hour an a half but some more headstamps for turtle an some trash first good signal i got was a 11-29 at 7 inchs out poped a nice 1860 fatty indian head decided to start working that area an then my hears got riped off by the sound of the next target comming in at a solid 08-50 at 4 inchs dug my plug an seen a quarter size shinny coin poping up leaned in the hole to pull it out an to my suprize there was 6 more silver coins attached to it and its pirty. so i decided to end my day there. so you all be the judge of if its a jewlry or 7 silver find. Day 2 6/10/12 (hunt with fred stanford aka tim ) one the the forum members fred standford came down to my neck of the woods for some hunting we tested out a few spots but it was hot an nothing much around so i decided to take him over to my hunnie hole an search a bit i ended up finding a wheat penny a button a neat lead packing stamp and 2 buckles. the big find for the day tim found an it was a 2 center. Day 3 6/14/12 (Today) after work i had some time an decided to go out an play at my hunnie hole an i was determend to find some more old coins and i did. things started off very slow so i decided to hit another spot i had found a few coins at an knew there had to be some more on this spot and i was right first target was a 09-28 at 6 inchs dug my plug and out poped a almost gone 1871 fatty indian head. filled in my hole moved 5 more swings and got a bouncy 09-38 to 12-42 at 10 inchs dug my plug and out poped my 3rd on for the year a 1864 2 center in the best condition yet this now makes 4 2 centers off this property this year i love this hole. welp injoy the last of the pictures an happy hunting.

Nice finds man. Nice little spot you have there. Between your spot and mine that's 10 two centers found recently in just our area and most have all been 1864's. Crazy. I also have a button just like the one you showed. Congrats on the foreign silver as well. We should meet up sometime. I'm not too far away.

Hmmm, silver spill or jewelry...I think silver spill...that's a great find, probably brought home by a GI who served in Europe during WW2...Congratulations on all the finds, you had some great hunts!

Default Cool

Love the button. The bracelet , I think that counts as 6 coins and 1 jewelry. Lucky Dawg! That property still holds some keepers. I think I would dig anything that beeps in there. Huge congrats on some great finds. Thanks again for having me down Rob.

Default Nice finds

That "coin spill" jewelry is beautiful.
That button you found on the 14th - I have one exactly like it, do you know anything about it?

hehe unfourtonitly i have to correct you on this i have heard the same thing about fattys only being in the early 1860s but this is incorrect i have 18 fattys iv found sofiar in the last year with very clear an nice dates that range from 1860 to 1874 99% of them being from 1860 to 1868

p.s if goes4ever reads this also to answer his question on the ring up range with the etrac i tested all 75 of my indian heads an found something out all the fattys i have ring up in range of 09-22 to 12-29 all the rest are 11-30 to 12-36

Most people go for coins or jewelry but you managed to find both at once. Can't argue with that! Thanks for sharing

awesome silver coin bracelet!!!!!! as far as your indian....you have a 1859 fatty.....how can I tell???

well in the picture where your showing the reverse I see a wreath that connects at the top and NO shield, like on other indians. The 1859 is the ONLY yr that does NOT have a shield at the top between the wreaths

if you take a sos pad to it you may get some detail out of it better than it is. Also every fatty I have dug has came in at around 12-24 range, just like a pulltab

You beat me to it. I was going to point out the same thing. No shield at the top of the wreath is definitely a 1859. You might want to try a couple of soaks in hot peroxide using a stiff brush between soaks. Oh yeah, awesome finds. You have a great spot there.

I have not had much luck using peroxide on copper nickel (fatty) indians.....they are about same composition as a nickel and they just don't change much with peroxide. I still use SOS on all my fatties and all my nickels
