Default KT's fun find

First off, KT did not find this while swinging due to medical restrictions, but while going through a collection of old pins He found an elks lodge pin with ruby eyes (pic 1). Due to the unusually heavy weight, KT checked the back and sure enough...a nice 14K mark! (pic 2) This pin is old and dates from the late 30s to early 40's when the Queen's uncle was a member of the elks lodge in Hot Springs, AR. KT inherited the pin, along with a fine shotgun, and a pocket watch (still runs!) for helping his widow dispose of some of his estate, before she moved into a nursing home.

Anywho, a check of today's prices shows the pin valued at gold scrap value of $187.19. Heafty weight of 6.41 grams! It will be given to the Queen to store in Her Royal Jewelry box!

Always fun to find a small treasure amongst the junk pins!

Thats a nice piece for sure!

Now you got to find where the Elks Lodge members used to meet, and hunt it when your feeling up to it. I've had pins fall off me before and not noticed it until much later.

Cool beans KT!! Back when I collected sports cards and memorabilia I would go through all of my "commons" once a year. Usually took a week to do it. But, I always found cards that certainly were not commons.
