Talking My first SLQ! Yay!!

Went on a quick hunt earlier today at a new spot and wasn't finding much, just a few Memorial pennies. This was a wooded open space and had trails running through it. Anyway, I hopped off the trail in a couple of clear spots and found the Wheat penny (1958) and the old dresser hinge plate (I think).

Well, the bugs were getting to me so I headed back to my car. As always I sweeped along the edge of the tail and hit a solid 42 on the Xterra 505. It also dropped to 39 which made me think clad quarter. A few inches down popped out a quarter alright, but as soon as I saw the eagle on the back I knew I finally found one, a Standing Liberty quarter!!! My first one. Well, it has no date and it's worn to nothing, but I don't care, it's a beauty!!

Man, they sure come when you least suspect it. What a great feeling. Happy Hunting all!

Wow that quarter is worn, but such a cool find. I'm still waiting on my first. For some reason that and the Franklin half are hiding from me. grrr.

Congrats.

Now that is one well worn SLQ. But it beats the heck out of mine (oh yeah I never found one) finding one would make my year I think. Keep digging and HH

Hey, congrats! It might not be mint, but, it's old and out of the ground. That makes it beautiful,

HH
