Default (2) 1916 Dimes, 1st Fatty, 3 Hunts all with Silver and a 09 VDB

Got to go back to a home that was built in the 1860's, it's the site I found my 1850 Seated Dime. It has been almost 10 weeks since that hunt, nobody has been home the half dozen times I had stopped since that day. Well got to hunt both Thursday night and again on Saturday evening with success both times. I followed those hunts with a hunt at a local high school that boosted the clad count nicely.

Thursday I was passing by the home and seen a car in the driveway so I stopped. The owners had been staying at a nursing home as the Gentleman had fallen and broken his hip. I was given immediate permission and got in about 45 minutes in before the mosquitoes and darkness became to much for me. The grass was very long as it had not been cut for a few weeks but I was just happy to be able to hunt this site again. The results were fantastic as I got two Silver Dimes both from 1916 a Barber and a Merc and both have "S" mint mark.

Also got 2 Indian pennies of one is a 1863 Fatty. I had soaked the coin for 2 days to be able to read the date with a jewelers loop. This is my first of this type. The other is a 1906 in pretty nice shape. Also found 4 Wheat's.Name: 12Etrac1.JPG

On Saturday Night I got back to the site and the grass was cut and started where I left off. Two more Indians, a "51" Rosie and 7 Wheat's including a very nice 1909 VDB were added to my coffers. I got to hunt for about 2 hours before rain ended my adventure. Did find a little clad on both hunts.

The high school I started hunting at 5:30 this morning before the heat arrived. Managed to dig a very nice total of $20.15 in Clad along with a cute 925 Ring and a 1975 Canadian Penny.Name: 12Etrac12.JPG

What a great hunt! I'm jealous of your 1909 Wheat! VDBs are hard to come by! Congrats!
