Finally got my ACE 350! First hunt pic.

I was surprised to go outside today and there sat the box I have been waiting on for 4 weeks. Needless to say I was one happy camper! I put it all together and couldnt help myself but take it out to my grandparents old house place in the country. I discriminated out the first 2 notches and went to swinging. Immediately I found a nail, then a pull tab, and lastly some pieces of metal that I cant identify. I was just getting a feel for it but I was not ready for how hard the ground was so its time to make or get a good shovel.

Thanks guys. I have one of those smallish shovels, about 2 ft. long but it has a plastic handle so I think I will modify it to make it a little longer, dig better and put a stronger handle on it.

For a good cheap dig tool go to Walmart and get a dandilion tool it looks like a knife with a edge for cutting and a forked tip. It holds up to digging very well I put away a tool I bought from my dealer made for plugging (it is partial circle ) I like the tool from Walmart best. Cuts into frozen ground easier than a lot of tools real stiff so it don't bend under pressure. I am thinking of using my angle grinder to make the other edge like the one so I can cut from either direction without turning the dandilion tool around.

One detecting buddy bought a shovel cut the handle down cut material off the shovel face to make a cool little shovel that is strong for woods digging.

I went out again today, with the shovel, and I have decided that i need it longer and with a stiffer handle. The spade needs to be cut down a little on the edges and it should be good to go. It hurts my back to bend over digging the holes so adding some length will help tremendously. I did manage to find a 1987 nickle and an old rusty clevis.

Its only been a few weeks since i was only finding these, now im upto 5 wheaties, $7 in clad, a nice old button and these are from one place...so keep it up, im also about a shoe box of trash that didnt go into the trash can, so dont let the trash get you down, the highs are so much worth it

DD coils seems to like bottle caps, why I do not know.

I've gotten a few bottle caps that ring up as a penny with my ace 250 (6x9 coil).
It always seens to be the older caps too...
