Default Nice bennifit to Silicone Gel Ear Seals

The other day was the first time I hunted late into the day when the beach crowds have shown up since changing the ear seals on my headphone. Not only are the ear seals great for canceling out background a wave noise, but now I can no longer hear all of the same questions "have you found anything" over and over. It is so nice to be able to point to my headphones and say "I can't hear you" and be telling the truth and move on. One guy kept talking and I don't have a clue what he said. It was almost funny as I kept hunting.

That right there was worth every penny spent on the up grades

I use Sunray Pro Gold's and they cut out their conversations very well. After I started using them I just smile, point at my ears and keep walking. I did talk to an older couple the other day, just because he said "sorry, I know I am bothering you but....." He told me about the other short fat guy that showed him his diamond rings and left all the trash behind.

I know your pain as we all do. People come up and ask the same old thing. Kids follow you around like you are giving out candy and parents want them to so they leave THEM alone! Last week I was using the GT chest mounted. I see a kid look up and in the best country drawl he says "gaw lee maw waat is thaaaaut?" I can barely hear her say I am using one of those fancy things, I think she called it a coin finding thing. I cut out of there fast. Bad enough we put up with a lot but ignorant people are just that. I know a lot of people are just curious so I apologize to them for my calling them stupid but it gets really OLD after hearing it over and over.

I recommend the Pro Golds for the GT. They are comfortable, block out the stupid and are leather ear cuffs that block outside sound. Just smile, point at your ears and keep walking. Sometimes that does not even work.

Let me know how they work for you on those 90+ degree days, mine get very hot, and sweaty...the only downside I have found to them. They really do add to the confort level other then that........

It was 85 degrees the other day and they were still comfortable. I have had my stock headphones get hot in our 95 degree summers. I just take them off and dunk them in the water to cool them off. But then again, I am usually off the beach before it is that hot. In my area when it's 95 to many people are in the water to hunt.

I remember being at the beach a few years ago for three days of hunting with my Excalibur. By the third day I couldn't stand the stock pads against my ears anymore. Talk about instant headache.

Thank goodness I saw a video from OBN having a beautiful woman trying out the gel pads. I remember her saying these feel more comfortable. I ordered them that evening.

They were the first thing I recommended to dogpound when he told me he bought an Excal in the classifieds.

OBN that is going to happen. I know it but I was hoping the DF would be the tool of choice then. At least that is the plan. I hunted at 90 degrees last week and it was tolerable. It will be hotter soon. To add, I also have a pair of waterproof Grey Ghosts with a 1/4" plug wire. I will try them and dip them once in a while on hot summer days like CS said and leave the Golds home. At least that is the plan. heheee!!!

Did you use the Black and white..or I think the other was the red and white wiring?

Just modifided a set of UW GG for a excalibur, the owner complained they were not as definded and as loud as the stock yellows while diving, even though the did a better job at blocking out the amblent noise. So I made a few changes...

Just catch a few moments on the first video to see the different between the Yellows then the GG

Then the improvement after cutting out the inducer
After

I talked the owner at Grey Ghost into putting a 1/4" plug on those water headphones for me. He said don't tell anyone since they do not like to do custom work. Don't tell anyone else. To me the tones are not as good as Golds or not near as loud with the limiter off but not bad for waterproof cones. I am not surprised your guy complained about the volume. The tones are much better than my Excal headphones (while I had it) for sure but I think he was right about the volume.

I did not want to solder a plug on so I got them for the regular price after I reminded him the 1/4" plug is cheaper than the waterproof bulkhead connector is. I will use them with my back pack case with clam for my July trip to the Gulf coast to hunt a party spot. In case I get a wave, fall into the water or such, my Pro Golds won't get ruined. Adding to edit those air tests show the tones very well. The stock Excal phones are spot on. I like the GG much better, it is a clear tone sharper than the Yellow mellow excal phones. Thanks for the link!
