Cool Tons of Clad Quarters!

Hunted adjoining Little League fields today,or the areas between and around them rather. Its interesting that I only found 2 dimes, two pennies, and one nickel. I also found twenty Quarters! I am astounded by that number, and could have KEPT digging them! They were all between 1 and 6 inches deep in nice moist clay from the recent rains. Not too bad for a 2 1/2 hour hunt. This bring my clad total for the year to $65.85.

Nice haul...probably kids dropping concession stand money. Stuff there is usually in $0.25 increments so lots of quarters are given in change.

Keep diggin'.

Love finding those quarters! Around ball fields is one of those areas where I also find a higher concentration of quarters as opposed to other coins.

Nice hunting!

I agree with that theory. As lesser valued coins become less & less relevant, we'll probably be seeing more quarters in years to come. My guess anyway. I still find more dimes than anything.

I usually do well at the entrances of these parks for some reason. Maybe folks grabbing keys, kids waiting for a ride counting change, I dunno. It is more profitable. I worked an area leading to the snack bar at one park and the grass was very short bermuda. Any coil dropped here would easily been found. My search attested to just that too.

I really need to attend a city meeting and ask if the parks and Recreation Dept could sod these areas with St Augustine as opposed to Bermuda. Anything dropped into a deeply rooted St Augustine would be lost immediatly!
