What does that signal translate to regarding other objects...i.e., pull tab, pop-top, zinc penny, etc?

Big pull tab, small-medium pop top, corroded zinc. Kind of between pull tab and zinc.

Very beautiful coin! I guess out West we may not find things as old as on the East coast but there is gold to be found here in more than one form. I was branding on a friends ranch last week where I have been detecting old homesites. One of the old cowboys heard me talking about detecting and said he and his friend went out in the late 70s with a detector they bought and found two (I think he said $5 but I'm not sure) but 2 gold pieces the first day out near an old cabin here in Mt. He said they detected for years after and never found another. Beginners luck he figured.

How'd you clean it further? If you want your avatar to look really awesome, put the gold coin on a black velvet (or anything black) background then take a really nice macro shot of it in good lighting.

It'll make it really pop and your avatar will be sweet. Not that it already isn't.
