Default your thoughts needed

I live beside a country club that filed for bankruptcy and is no longer open. There is nobody around to ask permission. I tried calling the phone number and it is disconnected. What are your thoughts? Should I just go for it? I have noticed people walking the cart paths in the evenings.

I would never recommend hunting private property without permission

Check with your local tax assessor, they will tell you who owns it now. Probably a bank. If you can find out which bank, call and see whos handling that property and ask them. It's worked for me. Good luck....Curt

Honestly if it was me, I'd be on that course if I exhausted all my efforts . I just would be sure not to dig any plugs on the greens/putting greens, but i'm pretty positive there wouldn't be anything there.
I would look anyplace that people would go in their pockets to grab a tee, balls or ball markers or divot repair tools. I worked at a golf course for 2 years and you'd be surprised how much guys drop and walk right over. (Tee Boxes, 2nd shot areas, restrooms, beer area, large bumps on the cart path)

Try looking up on your local news website and see if you can find if anybody purchased it after foreclosure. Again, this is my OPINION

How long has it been in bankruptcy? It is most likely in some form of receivership and in probate at the moment. In which case it is technically in the Twilight Zone as far as ownership goes. If you can get its full legal status.

From what I have found out there were 2 owners, one was arrested by the FBI for back taxes on many properties. It happened last summer. One is in jail and the other filed bankruptcy but is still in limbo. Many housing developers have made attempts to purchase the land but can not until the process is complete. From what i have heard a bank in Czech. will own it once everything is straighted out.

I am just worried for what the police might do if I am out there. I want to get out there, the oringinal property was owned by William Penn and was turned into a country club in 1919

You know...I seriously doubt if anyone gives any notice to this place since the owners are crooks and incarcerated. Heck, tell anyone who asks, "The owners said it was OK." They ain't going to any trouble to know differently. I would hunt it. It sounds like a Twilight Zone to me. martin

You might find his stash if hes up for back taxes and the other in jail..or you might find a ring...still attatched to someone...

That is a hard one. I know of a campground that is still in foreclosure and the bank nor previous owners are claiming ownership of. I have talked to both and they said it is not our property. If it wasn't for the long drive and the place is not that old I would have already been to it.

Orange vest and a hardhat? If the owner filed for bankruptcy, he still technically owns it, until the judge decides otherwise. There are several different types of bankruptcy, but it's a mess. If he had a loan against it, the banks can't foreclose while he's going through bankruptcy. Can't sell it either. My try the owner in jail, I'm sure he really cares, might even get permission to bring the Bobcat...

well I have 2 night hunts in. Got my first silver last night and some clad and 2 divot tools. I noticed a car there today when I was taking my daughter to school. On my way home I drove by and the car was gone, but now are signs saying "Smile you are on camera". I am assuming that it is a coincidence.

If you had to ask this question, you know the answer.

Do the right thing and find somewhere both legal and with permission to hunt

Will probably catch some flack for this but ...... previous owners in jail..... owned by bank of czechoslovakia...... so many if's and questions.... I would be all over it. If the police did show up I imagine the worst they would do ( the first time ) is ask you to leave.

I would be on it, especially if it's owned by a bank. It's not possible to steal from a bank they are the biggest criminals in history.

Not posted is fair game in this case.

By your standards, some of us believe that the federal government is a huge criminal, so we should not abide by federally protected laws either and just start detecting anywhere we see fit?

Federeal parks, here we come!

Sinnce they are criminals, we should be one and tresspass? Not good math if you ask me!
