Default Last couple of hunts- Wheats, Buffalo, silvers, relics..

I haven't been hunting much recently, I'm just not 'feeling' it as much as I used to, the excitement and entertainment part of detecting has been missing for the last month or so...Anyhow, I hunted a park featuring the classic 'old ballfield', and also hit a cellar hole/homesite that was last habitated 50-60 years ago. For security reasons there are no identifiable location pictures, sorry...Here's some pix from a couple hunts.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]...[IMG][/IMG] This hole is so hidden I doubt it's been hunted much, and with it covered in thorns, poison ivy and infested with ticks, I can understand why. But I don't care, I'm hunting it...The ticks avoided me as usual, I picked up no hitchhikers...my immunity to poison ivy is still up to date, and leather welder's gloves and a hoodie kept the thorns at bay. These pix are from day 2 at the homesite...[IMG][/IMG] Here we have most of the pieces of a Hubley WW2 plane...[IMG][/IMG] Next up is the hood ornament from a 1937 Chevy...[IMG][/IMG] Another silver plated spoon, different from the first one...[IMG][/IMG] Of course, there's always regular silver, in coin and candlestick base form this time...[IMG][/IMG] Buffalo with a date, cool!...[IMG][/IMG] I'm going to be working this spot from time to time and get to the older stuff eventually...Thanks for looking and HH!

No, Craig, it's a tire valve cap, probably 30's vintage. I doubt the pilot survived as well...I did locate the bottle dump and I recovered a 1 quart milk bottle that will hold all the wheat pennies I've been finding this season, 294 of them so far...the only way to hunt the dump would be to clear the thorns or hire a little person to crawl under them and dig...

AWESOME DIGS!! Poison ivy sucks! Digging in the roots relic hunting ya kinda have to deal with it. Ticks sucked yesterday, I didnt put any spray on and i pulled 5 ticks off me from a 1½ hr hunt. Haven't needed it in the past 2 or so hunts but yesterday I did. Nice finds!! ....HH.... 401K

Welcome back, Captn!
Good post! A break every now and then will cure the burn-out feeling us addicted, obsessed hunters have to deal with from time to time.

I'm sure glad I don't have to deal with ticks in the places I hunt. I really hate those blood suckers and Lyme disease carriers.

HH,
Raphis
Dan

Pretty good finds for "not feeling it." Did the spark come back any after finding all that sweet stuff? We all love seeing pics of your great finds so hang in there. It's all about fun after all.

Hunt Happy!
