Default 2012 Spring Field Hunts Total..What a Season!!!!

Even though I will be hitting some fields this morning, I figured I would post my likely totals for the Spring field hunts. My goal during this time was to get to the oldest places I could find relatively close to home. I had to drive an hour to all of these sites but they were well worth it. I didn't find any Spanish silver which was my top priority, but I feel I made up with that with the quality and quantity of items I did find.

Newest Find - 1877 Seated Dime
Oldest Find - Draped LC or 1806 KG III Halfpenny
Large Coppers - 15
Indians - 28 Oldest - 1863 Newest - 1875

Although I am a coin shooter I really enjoy the flat buttons I have found as well as the Civil War buttons and bullets. I will be graduating school this fall and will likely not be hunting this area anymore

Hope everyone had a great field hunting season!!!

**Not pictured are the 23 regular Indians.**

I would have to say you kicked major butt there. That is a large hual from that area for just the spring season. A very nice collection of stuff. Sorry college is almost over for you but you'll end up somewhere else with other treasures waiting to be found. With the success you have, please stay away from my hunting area.

KILLER display Kyle! Research is the KEY to the good oldies! Absolutely amazing what a person who takes time to find old sites can find in a farm field. I know from personal experience.

Good finds. With the winter as mild as it was a lot of us field hunters did very well. I dont think we could have had a better time.

Don't fret, I can see why you won't be hunting that area any more....because you've damn near cleaned it out!

Nice going, some really cool finds there.

I was driving through Northwest Ohio this past weekend and that's the kind of stuff I could see sitting in all those fields with all those old farmhouses that still are present out there! No wonder you and G4E always kill it with the old stuff in Ohio! Way to go!
