Default Returning an item

Doing my good deed for the month. A few weeks back I found a nasty, black encrusted item that I initially thought was a coin, threw it in my finds pouch and didn't give it any thought until later at home. I nearly tossed it into a can for the tumbler but then noticed a little protrusion on the edge. After a lot of vinegar/salt soaking and elbow grease I cleaned it enough to reveal it to be a silver charm with engraving. The obverse showed a woman's name in script with the dates "1962 - 1963" along with spots where small stones had been placed along the perimeter. Most all are gone and those remaining I do not believe are precious. The reverse in block letters showed "Pres. & P. Pres. CM Co. NJ 1959".
Anyway after a couple weeks poking around on the Internet I located the original owner's adult grand daughter who still lives in Wildwood where I found this piece on the beach. I've conversed with her via email, and she's thrilled that I'm returning it to her and her family this coming week.

Ive returned 3 class rings this year and it feels great to talk to the people that lost them. They really are shocked and appreciate it when you tell them its in the mail. Thats one cool find.... glad you could do the research and do the return.

Nice sleuthing on the return of that charm! Based on your description of it, it was probably lost almost 50 years ago.
