Default 1883 and 1884 CC morgans

Guys,

I know someone selling one of each of the above coins. They are as close to uncirculated as you can get, only very minor scuff marks but beautiful looking coins.

he wants 200$ a piece, is that a good deal? i am considering buying but only if it is a good deal

My blue book is showing at a MS-65 they are $230-$235. This is what a dealer would look at and then prob pay 20% less.

Ok so not worth buying with an aim to resell, but good for a collector.

Thanks!

If it sounds like too good of a deal, it probably is. Like grinsebring says, beware of fakes. China is making them so good now that even the pros have a hard time spotting them. I'd take a scales and spreadsheet with all spec. on a REAL one and do some very good checking before handing over any $$ for them. Good luck.

Hard to tell without the pics. If they are real - around $300.00 would be a good deal...

Beware of counterfeits. I know of two coin dealers that wound up buying counterfeits. They were that good.

Remember we are talking blue book not red book...and you know a dealer is going to pay 20% under that and if they are good to go.......just get out there and find some gold and you wont have to worry about these CC Morgans...LOL......HH

Average UNC (60-64) usually run about $140-$160. Circ are even lower since these are not rare dates.
