Great finds and video!
You didn't destroy them, either.
Congratz!

Well, Rick, you managed to do something I haven't done yet....find two different era silver quarters in the same hole!

Congrats on a great find, especially with the iron hiding in the hole.
Hey, if you figure out a way to get the iron off your '23 SLQ, maybe you'll be able to get the iron off a merc I found a while back?

HH,
Raphis

Not sure how long this post has been up but..WOW.. this indeed belonged in Eye Popping..I loved it. You pulled that SLQ and honestly didn't know which way to turn. Then you come back and get that second signal..again WOW. The Etrac is amazing is it not..nice nail..saw right past it..Love it.

Holy Smokes! What a great coin spill and both are in great shape too. Maybe electrolysis can get rid of the iron stain for you, it worked for me on a worn Merc last year. Great finds.

Great job on the hunt! You made a nice video, the burp and fart added a quality we don't normally see in other metal detecting videos! Keep it up.

BONESQUAT! HOLD EVERYTHING!!

I have a cleaning method that you HAVE to try first. Give the coin a little bath in acetone. Dry it. Then press it onto some Duct Tape. Massage the tape into the features, then pull it off. I bet you could get most of the stain off without rubbing the coin.

Sorry, I just really like this method since I tried it....

Lemon juice and Hydrogen peroxide, heat it in the microwave until it is boiling and it will take that rust right off and it will bit hurt the silver...

That's a great hunt. Just one of those quarters would be amazing, but two??? Wow!! Congrats!

OUTSTANDING, Bonesquat! Big congrats to you! I have found a silver pocket spill exactly ONCE so far (two Mercs), so your find is "eye-popping" to me in just THAT respect. THEN, you found two quarters I have yet to find, and really am hoping to nail soon -- ESPECIALLY the SLQ. I have book-ended those two, with Washingtons, and one Seated quarter, but the Barber quarters, and ESPECIALLY the SLQs, continue to elude me -- and you got them IN THE SAME HOLE!

Mucho congrats, my friend! That had to be a mega-adrenaline-rush!

Steve

Default cleaning coins while out hunting

One thing that I find will help when out digging and need to clean dirt off a coin is to take an old pill bottle and have it full of just water. When a coin is found drop the coin or coins into the water. after a while the water will soften the dirt up.There should be no rubbing involved and will not harm the coins.
