Default Meteorites on tbe beach

Has anyone found meteorites while beach hunting?

i'm not sure whether i found one... its like only 1" in size. nonetheless its a rock and it rang on my detector

a set of 20 rare earth magnets on the way in the mail along with other things, will certainly try it out when it comes

Well they would have had to have hit a beach sometime but more then likely a piece of iron or steel would look allot like a meteorite after years or decades in the surf. I would say there are allot in the deep water but they wouldnt travel to the beach.

Get an old hard drive from a bust PC and tear it apart. Them suckers are pretty strong!

It could just be a HOT ROCK....normally magnetite (iron black, metallic or streak black in color) some are naturally magnetized and will atract small pieces of metal. Its very common and contained in many sedimentary rocks. Could be hematite (brownish red, red streak dark, steel-gray) its the principal ore in iron, very common as well in some locations.
