Hi from good old Blighty, i was given the link to this site from a very good friend, the reason i was given the link was because of this
.

now i do not know if this has been brought to your attention, but this coin appeared on all the British forums, the thing is, Argentum bought this on Ebay
and was exposed by many of the members of those forums, he even admitted it when caught coming out with one excuse after another, subsequently banned from 2 forums of entering any coins into future find of the month competitions
To be honest when i was told it was on a American Forum, i was gobsmacked.
It would be interesting to know how many more forums it has appeared on, and how many more people has he "Hoodwinked"
Mick you should be damned well ashamed of yourself

Well, its wrong if he submitted it in a find of the month forum or club et al. We dont have that on this forum. Kind of like the fellows who got busted in the fishing tournament for having bass hidden in a cage on the lake. Personally, I have many more things to worry about than where or how a person obtained a coin.

its not only the find of the month competions we are talking here, its the fact he posted it as a find, and then posting it up and deceiving everybody...like here

I just quoted this line from "The Princess Bride" to a guy a couple of days ago when he was trying to BS (Bible study) me, and this guy needed a friend to quote it to him!

"We are men of action/honor; LIES DO NOT BECOME US!"

His honor is damaged forever, all he says will be questioned. It is my hope he has friends that can hear his repents, and suffer him to lie no more.

Thanks for letting us know. I had noticed he hadn't posted in a while, after some tremendous finds. It's a shame that sort of thing happens, I don't know what someone would get out of posting fraudulent finds.

Posting your finds on any forum is basically on an honor system. If you have no honor you will not gain respect from others. By posting things that you say you have found but really bought is really only hurting yourself in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't think this is the first time and probably not the last time that this sort of deception has occurred.

The other thing that really gets me is when people using a certain brand of detector sit and claim they are finding coins at what I consider absurd depths. Like finding dimes at 14 inches!

I know the guy was honestly sorry for what he did, though he cant be that sorry in a sense, if hes left the picture here etc, thing is hes posted finds since over here [uk], but doesnt get many comments,
there is a guy in a club im in, and everywhere we go, hes always got something nice to show thing is we know he buys and sells coins, so now we just laugh at him, which is his downfall because if he finds something genuine.....nobody believes him

What a Loser. Small PP syndrome. Lots of folks were picked on as kids, but you grow up and move on. At least most folks do.

First off welcome pook. I/we hope to see you more on the forum, and thanks for the headsup on this. Its a shame that some people feel they have to resort to tactics like this. Its NOT a competition! We are here to show the legitiment finds we make, ask questions of one another, and just share in this great hobby together. The word HONOR must not have much meaning to him...............eh!

Default Scamming

I thought the majority of you gave approval to scamming at the end of last year ?
Thats why I no longer bother to post finds here.

Pathetic.....what's the point in lying about your finds? I don't care what other people find....I am happy for them....find of the month is not a competition, IMO.

Its not a competition as such, in the sense of getting one up on the next peep, Its a friendly thing we do in the UK not only at clubs but on the forums as well, with genuine finds made and entered, and then voted on,
but some peeps feel the need to cheat, but god help them if they are caught out

We do the same here in the States, so I am familair with "Find of the Month" concept.....my point is it is friendly, and not competitive.

BTW - I don't see Argentum listed as a memener in our directory on this site anymore. Was he banned from here now, too...??
