Default Bedliner coated predator raven shovel handle

Decided to see how well the Duplicolor Bed Coat will hold up on my Predator Raven Shovel handle.. It was looking pretty beat up and the paint was worn off in places.. Anyway, here it is.. I'll be field testing in the Big Bend Area, TX for the next 2 weeks..
Will let you know how it holds up.. Thanks for looking ..

I don't know about bed liner, but paint seemed to make the dirt stick to my shovel (blade) more than when it's shiny. It would probably be better for a handle than paint though.

Love my shovel.
It's a dirt digging, root cutting go getter.

I ocassionally sand and wax the blade. Helps keep the dirt from sticking.

I use bed liner on my pinpointer every so often. It will peel off after awhile but I think it helps protect it.

After one hunt, the new Raven looks like this. I need to do the coating.

I have a stainless tipped RTG Scoop that the previous owner coated with bedliner.

It is flaking off steadily as I go. Think I may "help" it along a bit... Not a good idea in this case.

Well the main thing is the handle was looking pretty shabby. So this is a test to see how it will hold up..It looks good, the T-Handle feels good as for grip and all..
If this doesn't work, I'm having a friend paint it with powder coat paint.. BRIGHT YELLOW!!

Awesome, I love yellow... I started with yellow electrical tape on the PP and yellow iPhone case, etc... Bad news is the bees are attracted to everything yellow. I didnt think about that. Heck, they are after my garden hose that has a yellow stripe down the black.

Thank you for the heads-up on the RTG scoop. I won't do that one. The saltwater and sand I suspect are the cause?

Just a car wax.. It will help for a couple of times out... Then I resand it and wax it again.. Any rust on the blade will make the dirt and especially clay stick to it..

I would think that bright yellow would draw attention to the fact that you were using a shovel. They give a lot of people the wrong idea about our hobby.

True, things we don't think about

I think Sonnydigs mostly does private sites. I don't think he has to worry about that. I wouldn't bring the raven with me on hunts to public areas.
