Default On a Tesoro 然ax model, do I need a smaller coil than the standard for smaller coins?

Is there anything more sensitive/deeper than the standard 8 x 9 concentric on small coins? Depth is the main concern here.

...so we're not going for .2gram nuggets here... a small coin like a dime is still a decent size. What is the optimum coil for a dime-sized coin and a coin that's 1.5 times wider in diameter than a dime?

I use a Golden 然ax.

I am on the look out myself for a 4" or 5.75" inch coil for my Tesoro Conquistador 然ax, the stock 9x8 coil is great (I found found some very pieces of jewelry with it) but the smaller coils can pick the goodies in between the junk better. You will loose some depth but not too much. The smaller coils are more sensitive but I am amazed at how sensitive my stock coil is. Keep in mind that your Golden 然ax was tuned to the coil that came with it, if you hunt mineralized ground with a different coil it will work but not as well as it would if it was matched to it. The Golden 然ax as you are aware has a factory set ground balance and can not be changed if needed to work at peak performance with another coil unless you open the faceplate and adjust the g.b. trimmer. Everything aside the small coils on any of the Tesoro's are a blast to use.

Not sure about the Golden, but my Vaq can pick up very tiny objects way deep with the standard 9X8.
Picked up a very small stud off of a child's pair of jeans about a foot deep in some tot lot chips with no mineralization, once, dimes are no problem at 7-8 inches and beyond.

You might want to look for a 7" concentric coil. I found I like it better than the 5.75 on the Eldorado and Silver.

I bought the 12x10 and 5.75 concentrics for my DeLeon. Tried the big coil first, found a bunch of stuff, deep too. Few days later, put on 5.75, and have been using it for about three weeks now. Still goes 7-8 inches, but not as jumpy. The mixed signals are still mostly junk though. Can't believe how many nails I've got in the ground...

I'm thinking that coil size, mostly has to do with how much junk you have in the ground. On home sites, there is just too many things to bounce a signal off. Been thinking about trying a DD, and inclined to start with the smaller one. Don't know if there will be any benefit to a DD here, but need to experience the difference.

I'd say there will definitely be a benefit to a DD, especially in junk! I have a cleansweep and it slices through junk. The standard concentric is like trying to draw something fine with crayons, the cleansweep is like using a nice sharp pencil.

A concentric will pick up signals that are next to other signals a lot more. A DD slices through the ground, separating targets. DD's size targets better, a LOT better.

I could hardly go back to using the standard, if it wasn't for the standard finding good targets deep... deep old coins, generally 4-7 inches deep, sounded like large surface junk! No wonder I wasn't finding them at the same park the previous time, I thought they were junk signals! Everything sounds bigger and louder, the concentric design seems to detect more. With the DD, it tells what shape they are relative to how deep, and you can tell how deep because of the substance in tone. The cleansweep coil however doesn't go as deep as the standard, so I've been eyeing an 8.5" DD for all purpose through junk, or 11" DD for bigger coins amongst junk. For smaller coins, I'm still trying to decide. It's either going to be the 7" concentric or the 5.75" concentric.
