Default Clueless....

Found this today, magnet will not stick to it. May be copper. It's about 2" x 1"

you should try to put something of known size (maybe a dime) beside it for a size reference.
it kinda looks like a broach. any sign of attachment points on the back of it?

Sorry, I had taken the pic and forgot about sizing. Just added the measurements. It did have 2 attachment points on the back side.

believe me, i've done that too.
it's hard to say what, if anything might have been in the center, but i remember some of the weird jewelry my grandmother used to wear, and when i first saw your photos, the word "broach" came to mind. it might not be, but that's my guess.

You are probably right. It hit as a penny on the Ace 250.

Thanks guys, I think the barrette would be accurate. It was a good day today. The 1866 shield nickel topped it all!
