That would be great. I know this may be a crazy question but is there any chance we could gather a group of PA hunters secure permission to hunt anywhere near Gettysburg? I know alot of ground is private and what is not I doubt is legal to hunt on. CW relics are insanely neat....Pm me sometime and we will set something up

Hello from Lancaster County. We have a few spots around here that had CW activity. We have a ton of colonial homesteads, as is most of PA along waterways. You are always welcome down my way. Do your research and listen to the PA people here, lots of good folks with tons of info.

Default Leetonia Road

Yep, I have been on the Leetonia road recently, scouting for some old lumber camp areas. I may go back there this weekend, not sure.

I would like to find some old school, church, or home foundations in the Lycoming or Potter areas, but I am not having much luck. I have posted several requests to see if anyone would like to share some info, but no luck yet....

Do you know where the old fire tower is on the gas pipeline ? on the other side of the gasline cutting is and old logging rd, follow that down and it leads to an old jeep trail take a right and go about 1/2 mile or so and there is an old cabin that burned down in the 50's I believe. you cant miss it, be careful a bear used to have a den under it. it is right at the head of Kramers hollow, if you leave a car at the other end of Kramers hollow you can walk thru the valley in about 2 hrs and about 1 mile from the cabin you will find a group of apple trees and a small cut where a spring runs off the top of the mountain that cut will take you very close to where all three county lines meet. just below the apple trees there is a large hump and there used to be a stone ring there that over the years was covered up, the logging road continues on the left side of the creek as you go down and at the first large hollow if you walk to the top of it and go straight till you reach the top off to your right there is a ww2 airplane crash site, since I was last there I hear they have a stone marker of sorts there, the engine block is nearby and assorted parts, they never did find the pilot, if you stay in Kramers hollow and follow it down along the logging road which is mostly a path now you will find just about anything, I have made eyeball finds there of stove parts and old iron pieces of all shapes and sizes. Now if you go up francis leetonia till the first hairpin curve before the Gold Nugget camp and follow the hollow there down across the creek (lots of native trout in there) and up the valley about a 1/4 mile there is a large valley on the right, right in the Y where they meet is all kinds of old logging camp stuff and parts from another woodstove, follow that up to the top and cut across to the right and there is another few apple trees and a watering hole and what appears to be a old corral/barn foundation. hard to find tho so you have to watch for it. do not drop over the other side or you come out near bear run rd and the walk is a killer lol, trust me . also if you go past cold springs camp a few hundred yards up towards the pipeline on the right is an old road thats overgrown, follow that down about 200 yrds and there is the remains of another camp that burned pre 1970, it looked old back then even.there are a few hunts to keep you busy lol, let me know I have a few more spots also

I will see if I can get a few screen shots, Yes a map is handy, it is a little rough up in that area. I wore many a sock out hiking/hunting up there.Don't want to spend the night up there in the woods, I have been up there when you didn't see a car for 3 days.
