Default Can it get any worse? ...sorry for the personal rant...

Could it get any worse?

This past February has been the worse month I have ever had... And now beginning of March. I almost don't even know where to start...

February 1st my 9 year old cat named "kitty" was hit by a passing car. She was an indoor cat that escaped. I went to get her in my yard and she took off across the street. I have had her since she was small enough to sleep in my work boots. Through everything she was always there as happy as can be to get some attention and make me smile.

February 12th my girlfriend of 4 years and the mother of my youngest daughter left me. She found "someone else"... I knew we grew apart but I wasn't the one who forgot how to communicate and felt like I needed to be 21 again.

February 15th I was all excited to finally order the Garrett AT-Pro. Well that excitement was short lived when I hop on the highway and realize I have some major transmission issues. Took it to get looked at and ended up with a $1200 bill at the garage. Well there goes the upgrade and a few other items I was intending on getting.

Things went good for two weeks... Some nice finds at the lake and was able to get out a lot to MD and clear my head... Fast forward to today..

I get a phone call today March 3rd at 5am to come to the hospital. All I was told is my uncle was in critical care and in the ER. I rush down there just to be too late. He had a heart attack and fell down his basement steps. He was 61. He was actually getting ready for an early morning fishing trip. His favorite thing to do. He was a great man and taught me a lot about life and personal growth. Of all the things to happen today was the worse. I am sitting here jamming to some C.C.R. thinking of him. Still cant believe it honestly.. While I was there of course I also lost my iPhone. You know when it rains it pours right? Amazingly I had asked everyone at the hospital and looked everywhere there it was in a waiting room couch haha. Of course right? At least I got it back.

Then finally I get to the only thing that actually has to do with this hobby. I felt like getting out and needed some air. So about an hour ago I go out to my truck to get some things ready to do some night hunting. Its been a while for a nice night hunt and its a crystal clear night with no clouds. Was looking forward to looking at some stars as well. I go out to the passenger side of the truck and notice immediately my door isn't closed all the way.. !!! I haven't had a passenger in my truck in days and I know I didn't open the door at all today. Well of course the sh#$ storm keeps getting worse today. My Ace 150, some cd's, a broken cell phone, a skinning knife and my lighter was all taken from my truck. I asked every neighbor and I got no answers. I contacted the police and they said that there was higher priorities and a bad accident locally that thy were at. So I was left with no replies, answers or any kind of anything from them. So glad my taxes go towards getting ignored. Its not like it was very valuable or personal info its just the point.

I apologize for the long thread. I guess just needed to vent and I don't really have a social life. My question would be I guess how do you keep your head up when times get really bad? I don't want pity and I didn't mean to post it like "oh poor me". Just getting some things off my chest. Appreciate any input or advice please. Thanks.

Oh man, first of all, sorry for the loss of your uncle. Keep your head held high, everything will get turned around soon.

I remember you telling us about the transmission on your truck. Those things happen, unfortunately it is always at a bad time.

Regarding your machine, my suggestion is to keep your eyes peeled to Craigslist.

Hoping things get better,

John

Yea I will be looking at both craigslist and the local pawn shops. Someone will try it and not like it lol. I hope anyway.

Transmission I expected in a way. High mileage and a lot of hardcore off roading.

Appreciate the kind comments towards my uncle. Greatly appreciated.

Hey Burnt sorry to hear about your troubles, and especially your uncle. Hang in there, thing will start looking up for you. Try to learn from the problem's that occur and don't let them happen again. I bet if you do that thing will become better.

It might sounds a little cliche, but keep you head up bud. Bad things are what make us stronger in life. My condolences about your uncle. The three has already happened, so things should get better from here. If you want to pay for shipping I could let you borrow my un-used Tracker IV until you get things settled?

Sorry to hear about your uncle and all your other issues. Man, that is a bummer. Try to keep your head up and your spirit high. Easy to say. Tough to do. I would've let ya borrow my backup MD (ACE 250) but I gave it to a buddy at work to use. Hang in there. Things will turn around for you.

Thank you. However I didnt really cause any of these problems so hard to not let them happen again.

Hey Burnt. Ive been there too. One of those bad times in my life a good friend,, who never says much,, said something to me that stopped me in my boots .
........" Don't get discouraged, when one door shuts an other one opens ".
,,,, That statement has always stuck in my brain when ever I hit a rough spot in life.
Thats the best thing I can think of to tell you right now.

Sorry to hear about your uncle,, I lost an uncle that I was close with years ago, he taught me all the good stuff, hunting, fishing, just enjoying life. He died of kidney failure due to diabetes, just about 2 months earlier I had matched up to donate a kidney for him. So I know how you feel. As for the woman thing, my first real love, took me about 6 months to get over, my 2nd love took about 6 weeks to get over, my 3rd love, I was over her before she got out of the driveway. Poetic justice is when they want to come back, and you turn them down. Its all just life brother, don't let it get you down. Sorry for the long post, hang in there,,,,

I feel your pain. My dad passed away in Feb 2008 and then right around Dec 2009 my laptop was stolen from my car (partially my fault from leaving it on the front seat... I had a "sense" of security because I'm SOMEWHAT in a gated parking lot). My dad's death certificate and a USMC medallion (spelling) that was given during the funeral was stolen as well. I kept it with me... well, just because. I was thinking about bringing in the laptop that night, but just left it in the car since I've been needing to take it to work and just thought, "well, I don't need it tonight..." so I just left it. BIG MISTAKE!!! I won't go into the whole thing about why I don't feel "I" was at fault, but all I can say to you is keep your head high and "clear". It just tears me up knowing these dirt bags are out there and you just can't "clear" the streets as you see them. EVERY TIME I SEE A GANG BANGER... MAANNN, but what can you do. The court system KNOWS they're bad to society, but YET ($*&#@... Anyways, as one poster put it, "try NOT to let it get to you..." that's about as best as it can get. I believe that karma will get the criminals later in life. Other than that, hang in there... okay. HH \_
