Default Bullet Casing ID

Need help with ID and cleaning suggestions.

That has dual firing pin marks, hmmm this is one our resident ammo nut could answer quick

Allank it sure does look like a rimfire strike, I know there were a few larger bore rimfire caliber from way back in the day but its too early and my kiddos need to get going , look into this later today if I get time.

Soak it in vinegar for about 12 hours and it will clean right up, as for the size I have no clue...

I think it was the .44 henry rifle and there was win. rifle that had 2 firing pins but there may have been more

Do you have calipers? If yes, take accurate measurement of the base of the case. It is more or less in original shape. Your pics are good but there is always kinda large margin of error when you start making comparisons from pic...

Case length is way too big for Henry..hmmm..is there any headstamp? It might actually be a Swiss Vetterli case. Ok, it was necked cartridge but this case is so mauled you really cannot tell. And Vetterli had twin firing pins.

Looks like it does have a stamp! And looking at it closer, I can see that it probably had a neck. I'll measure again when I get calipers.

Ahhh..a cross. Vetterli then. And it was a Swiss made cartridge.
