Cool, What did it show up on the detector as? also is it steel or brass?

it actually jumped around reading everything! About 3 inches down. Brass.

Nice find, I found a few of them that look very similiar at 1700's and 1800's sites, it's hard to date them because they did not change much over the years but judging by the coins I found I would guess early 1800's.

Find it in the side of the road??? At a flea market? Why no story. I hate when there is no story to go with a find.
