Default Any ideas what this is?

I dug this up this morning at an old demolished farm home. I thought it was some kind of machine part, but after seeing all the fine detail around the edge, I'm not sure.

I think it's the Chinese symbol for long life.

And it looks as if there may have been rhinestones around the edge. What size is it? The back looks like it might have had a pin clasp at one time - like it was a brooch.

Thanks for the id Dutchroots, I wasn't thinking Chinese at all.

Kerry, it's about the size of a halfdollar, and I think you're right, it probably was a brooch.

It does look like it might have been a decorative pin, as on the back of your relic, there's something missing that indicates apiece of metal that laid acrodd the back, as if to pin onto something. The hollow dents on the front, going around the perimeter must have had gems or stones inserted into the hollows. I've find many relics that are similar, but nothing of that design or pattern, from the goldfields here. Where ever you found the relic, there has to be possibly more interesting items with that design on it.

No, it's too small(about the size of a dollar), I'm sure it's a broach.
