Panama City Beach for a week...

If any of you are familiar with the PCB area I'm just trying to find a little quick info. I'll be headed that way in late April with my wife and little one. I was wondering what the rules are (or how to find them) on MD'ing the dry sand areas. We are staying right on the beach and was just wondering if it would be a possibility to don a headlamp after dark and do a little detecting on the dry parts of the beach. I doubt I would get to spend a whole lot of time doing that as baby and wife make most the rules, but just in case we get a spare moment lol...
