Default Old school site 2 rings!

Got out to the old school site that sits by the old church. Found these 2 rings. Still not sure what the V is for.

This is my best video yet so please check it out if you have the time! (figured out how to embed videos, yay)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJe0e...cPi25CFspjOt6Y

The ring is not magnetic..Someone told me maybe pewter..Can anyone help me ID what kind of ring this is?? It has 3 dots and a longer dot under the V. like this ..._

The V is for Victory! It was on many stamps and coins during WW2. The symbols under the V are the morse code for V - from Wikipedia:
A well-known Morse code rhythm from the Second World War period derives from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the opening phrase of which was regularly played at the beginning of BBC broadcasts. The timing of the notes corresponds to the Morse for "V"; di - di - di - dah and stood for "V for Victory".

I wasn't around back then, I just like stamps, coins, and history...

i'm really starting to believe you've got yourself quite the honey hole there! if you're hitting rings, there's GOT to be coins there too and i'm sure they'll start showing up for you very soon!
and did i ever laugh when i was watching your video, lmao! ya looked like a brush-cutting Ninja swinging and hacking away at those trees and that flying drop-kick at that one poor little branch, HAHA!!
i'd probably hurt myself if i tried doing that, ha!

i tried a quick google search for victory rings, but didn't see any like yours'. (did they even make rings out of pewter?) is there any markings inside of yours' that might give a hint as to the maker or what it's made out of? i'd be very careful shining that thing up, it could be worth a few dollars!

anyway, great video and some excellent finds showing up for you! will be patiently waiting to see some more goodies.

Pete

Thanks! Im happy to hear that you enjoyed the video! Many more to come I hope. I have 4 more old schools lined up to hunt so I hope I can get a whole series of old school digs to tape! If not Mdin, you will see me diggin up a series of old school outhouses next year..who knows I might hit it big on a nice INK bottle! I figure there has to be some old ink bottles out there at these school sites.

No coins today but I know there has to be some out there!

Congratulations on the two rings that you found and the old pocket knife. The V ring is a great recovery for sure. Also enjoyed the video....looking forward to seeing more of them in the near future when you get back to that site.

Nice job on the video man. I liked the harmonica playing between the hunts. You definitely got a good hunting ground....Keep at it man!
