just as the title reads, " is the eclipse dd 1400 worth buying?'... id like to know what peoples feelings are onthis coil for the mxt. im thinking about getting one.

Please let us know where you plan to use it. Open areas, high minerializaiton, etc.
The eclipse series coils are certainly "worth" the price IMHO.
I don't have a 1400 DD, but it might help if I list what I use on my MXT...
4 X 6 DD Shooter
4.5 X 7 DD Excelerator
9.5 Eclipse
10D2
6 X 10 DD Eclipse
Super 12
My favorites are the 6 X 10 and the 4 X 6.

It works fine with the MXT and does well in areas that are not target rich, though it results in a stem heavy set up. I sold mine because I found I couldn't swing it for more than a few hours. It killed my arm.
