The fields I search are under a military a low flying zone with aircraft operating between 250-2000 feet altitude.

The hills and fields make an ideal low altitude low level training area for the military and typically the aircraft operate at minimum altitude of 250 feet.

So time to time I can be distracted!

Finds over several days.

Thanks for looking.........Doug.

Awesome finds Doug, always so interesting!! Congrats and good luck!

How do you hear your detector? I hunt near a modern airport and when a plane passes over it is LOUD and they are much higher!

Stunning recoveries as always.
I sure do miss flying on those C-130's:yes:

Thank you.

Slightly off topic.

This is the UK's replacement for the RAF's C-130 the A400M (Atlas).

This is a publicity photograph from an airshow before it came into general service a few years ago.

Several Atlas's flew overhead today whilst I was out in the fields.

I do apologise I did not answer your question on overhead aircraft.

The RAF aircraft are from bases hundred + miles away.

The helicopters by enlarge are Royal Navy Wildcats and Merlins and they are based 25 miles away.

The only loud aircraft for a short time are the RAF Tornados who fly at low level (250 feet) down the valley hugging the contours of the hills.
