Went back to a place I got a merc the other day.  I was picking up some wheaties here and there and no clad to speak of.  Hit a nice hint of deep silver and knew it was old as soon as I touched it.  It was in pretty nasty shape but I was one really happy boy   Also picked up another '41 merc and a '64 Rosie.

Here's the before:

Well done Joe,nice looking coin

You have to understand that this is a highly unusual find for my area...  There's just not a lot of history around here.  The community dates back to the 40's and 50's and before that, most of the area was farm land.  A 130 year old find is a modern coin by your standards

Neat horse tag by the way...  What's the story behind it and what do you think it might be worth?

I understand very well,i keep telling the same thing to a lot of guys on this forum.A 130 year old coin or artefact is a good find in anyones book. The horse pendant will be going to the museum on Monday morning so i dont know the true story about it yet and what it worth? i cant answer that one yet,,i dont know.Whatever priceless means.

WTG Joe!!!!!! In my area, frustrating is being rich in history, but needing a jackhammer or a backhoe to expose it. The "Openspace" legislation is a little late.

I take it there's a lot of new construction around there?

How's the Excal eater coming along?  :)

Excellent job on the seated Joe!! What kind of area did you find the coin in and how deep was it? I can only hope that someday I will come across a seated coin. Again a Big Congrats to you!

Nice Going Joe!! I've only found 2 Seated Quarters in all these years..they're definitely tough to come by! Congrats and thanks for the pics!!
