Patriot Park

Welcome to the forum!

to answer your question, you'll need to provide a LOT more detail than a park name. That could be anywhere, as indicated by a quick Google search:

Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge, TN is another family favorite amid the go-kart tracks and mini-golf courses. The park is dedicated to veterans from Sevier County that served during wartime and is located right along Old Mill Square.

Can you detect in Patriot Park. In Pigeon Forge Tn ?:?:

I haven't taken the time to look that particular location up myself. But let me tell you how you'd do it:

a) who administers that park ? (eg.: city ? county ? state ? fed ? Private? etc..)

b) Where is their list of park rules that the public can avail themselves of ? Eg.: dogs on leash, no fireworks, closes at sunset, etc... If it's city park, check the city website and you should see a sub-category of "parks and rec. dept". From there you should see "rules and codes". Then presto: Look to see if you see a "no md'ing" rule. If not, then .... not prohibited, eh ?

c) if the administering agency (city, or county etc...) doesn't have their rules-of-use on-line (or you're afraid it's not comprehensive enough), then you can call them and ask: Where can I find a list of the rules ? Like do they have a pamphlet they can pass out ? Or the city's muni-codes are in binder form down at city hall, etc... They will point you to where that exists, and you look it up.

d) Do NOT go asking "hi can I metal detect?". Lest you bump into the psychology of "no one cared till you asked" routine. So if they say "what is it that you wanted to know ?" , you stick to your guns and say: To see a list of all laws and rules applying to the use of the park.

e) I do not construe boiler plate verbiage about "collect", "remove", "alter" "deface" to equate to "no md'ing". It must SPECIFICALLY say "no md'ing".

Not sure of the image of that particular park, but .... so long as it's not an obvious historic monument thing, then .... you may be over-thinking it.
