Looks like a mid to late 1960s Whites. But there was another brand or two that had the same boxes, coils, etc... In fact, I think Whites simply made it for them, and it was simply a different logo on the box . So no matter how you slice it, it was still Whites.
 
Does that sign "High Hopes" indicate how he feels about finding something good ? :laughing:

…….at least back then it likely was when there was a lot more silver in circulation even if clad had come out by then.
 
I remember seeing White’s detectors in a Sears catalog with the Sears name on them. And speaking of “Back in the Day”, my dad got from a neighbor, then gave to me, maybe 25 years ago, an old Fisher “two-box” detector that used vacuum tubes and large batteries, versus solid state electronics. The boxes were constructed of Masonite, I believe, and the handle that joined the transmit and receive boxes/coils was made of wood. A very neat relic of this hobby. I ended up selling it to a fellow MTHA club member who was a Fisher detector dealer.
