information about a metal detector

I lost my white gold anniversary ring in the snow and borrowed a "Big Bear" metal detector.(I am not positive of the name) My question is, "how do I know if the detector could detect my white gold ring? It did detect bottle caps and something below the asphalt pavement. I plan on detecting when the snow melts in hopes of finding my ring. thank you for your help.

maybe some one who lives near you could help no one knows what state your in it isnt in your profile you could fill that out , there may be someone here on the forum good luck

White gold is tough to find for any detector. If you can get a sample of something else that is comprised of white gold and try the detector over it you will have a better chance of finding the ring.
