I found this today an I was curious if this is a bayonet scabbard tip. If so then would anyone know around what time frame this one could be in. I’m hunting a field that has history/war history from the 1600’s to civil war also includes stuff from war of 1812. If anyone could help me out that would be awesome. It’s brass and has some type of wood packing around the inside. Can post more pictures when I get home.

I am wondering if this could be the top to a flag pole or standard pole? It reminds me of the top on some flag poles that you put on the side of the house for like 4th of July.

Also seems very possible I just can’t find anything that matches it. If I had to guess though I’d say it’s late 1800’s because all the brass I’ve found around it has been late 1800’s.
