Had the day off today so I was going to do some swinging. There was ice on my windshield this morning and frost on the leaves but nothing a big coat wouldn't fight off.
I went back to the yard where I got the Indianhead yesterday.....only good target I had was another Indianhead....1907. There was still a signal in that same spot but it was only one direction swinging and I had dug pretty deep but got nothing. That signal was what made me dig there which I'm guessing was masking the Indianhead.
After going over that yard for probably the 10th time I decided to move on.
I went a few blocks north to an area where the city has been buying up houses to tear down so they can put in flood control. One of the houses which I've been wanting to detect was owned by the city now.....free game!
Went in the front yard and first signal I dug ended up being a 1916 Merc! A few signals later I popped out an 1899 Indianhead! Finally hit my goal of 30 for the year! I'm one short of my silver goal of 50 though.....no complaints though!
Did some swinging in the backyard but only got junk and a couple memorials. Hit the front yard one last time. Came across a good signal but it sounded like it was probably junk. To my surprise it was a token! I managed to ding it a bit but not bad. It is from Samuel London's pool hall on Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis that was in business during the 20's and 30's. Good way to end the hunt.
