I tore down a house a little while ago. It was built in 1850. Had all kinds of modern trash from the people that were living in it but we got it all cleaned out and started popping the walls off. To out amazement all the walls were 5inch thick hand hewn logs  Any how the rats carried all this little stuff into the walls which I found when taking them down! Each board was like a treasure hunt. I figured I would share it with you guys. Got to love them Pack Rats!

Well that concludes the finds so far. I really hope you guys enjoyed looking! I would like to know thoughts, opinions, likes, dislikes, values, tips, and anything else y'all can come up with. Happy Hunting!

Wow nice find! All of that was behind the walls you tore down?

Did you hit the grounds with your metal detector?

Look up the names on the Post Cards. A little history will help you get something for them. You can sell anything that somebody else wants, just find the one who wants it.

That is some awesome stuff man. Love the old paper stuff.

Yeah most of it was behind the walls. I guess the rats took it back there lol

I didn't ever get to hunt much but I did find the ring under the house after we tore it down. I found it with my metal detector. I am working on returning to the spot soon. I hope!

Man I love that old paper stuff too! I wish I knew more about the watermarked one. Like why would they go to all the trouble if it weren't important? Lol Research is one of those love hate relationships lol. Thanks for lookin man!

I've heard of government, presidential or White House stationary with watermarks. It might be worth looking into those "history questions"...

nice

Not to many photos! Looks like alot of fun. It all has value, I just don't know how much. HH

I used to live up around Emmet Arkansas back in the 60s and 70s, so I found it interesting to see all this along with the post cards and all showing Emmet, AR. I did a looksee on-line for Dr. A. A Reeder and found this. Cities of Prescott and Emmet are close in proximity.

"PDM—7-27-1948

Dr. A. A. Reeder; former Prescott resident; died in Missouri; survived by wife, 1 son, and 4 daughters (listed)"

Ain't it neat how small the world gets these days ;-) martin

awesome thanks for the pics! think of all the cool stuff that gets scraped when old houses are demolished:mad: good job saving that stuff!

Hey thanks for the link! Its pretty cool finding out stuff like that! I live maybe ten miles from Emmett in bodcaw. Apparently there was a huge 4 day battle at Prescott called the battle of prarie de Ann. My next goal is to find some good places around there to hunt. Thanks for the tips and HH!
