Beautiful 1st day of 2017

We could not resist venturing out on such a beautiful sunny January 1st. Colleen took out her brand new F75 and I had my old CZ 20. The surf was roaring, the sand was crusty, and a nippy little breeze was blowing from the SW. Colleen started out her 2017 finds with a surf tarnished state quarter and won the day finding 28 more coins. I started out with a zincoln and ended with a total of 11 for the day. Good start for the year!

MudPuppy was there yesterday also. His pictures showed ice. Are you near Holland by chance? I have a few places I will be playing at next spring.

That is just bizarre to see waves like that on a lake. We don't usually have waves like that on long island sound/CT shoreline and it's saltwater!

Its blowing a Gale today...-2 windchill, freezing spray, 9-13 footers churning up some more targets!...Yesterday was flat calm and in the upper 30's....I got out for a little, the sand was thawed.

The Pere Marquette Beachcam or the NOAA webcam on the harbor is a good thing to check everyday...If any of you Southerners feel overheated, take a look to see Lake Michigan in the Winter... :laughing:
