Hey guys I live in a small town of about 2000 people. The town was completely destroyed in the 60's by a tornado. Almost every building and home was leveled. I'm thinking there has to be some good stuff around here and in the 29 years I've lived here I've never seen any one MD. So any recommendations on tackling this town? Where to start? what to look for? Thanks for any tips

Any areas of town where houses existed that weren't built back??
If so that is where I would start.
Adjacent fields to where groups of houses stood once good too.
Any old newspaper articles with pics you can review??

I would start there.

look at old maps and determine where the older structures stood before the damage to the town. Those are the places I would want to work.

Sanborn fire insurance maps can help if you know where old downtown was.

I'd recommend talking to some old people that were there. Find out where the nicest neighborhoods use to be.
