Thats a fine looking sifter Craig. Guess you know I'll be doing one of those REAL soon eh. 
Is that 1/4" hardware cloth? Most if not all the inland lakes up here are sand bottom. The only place I run into any kind of gravel bottom is out in the Great Lakes. And I will be going there probably before the white stuff hits. Now the river on the other hand is a combo of sand bars, gravel, and some places about two feet of black muck. 
I'm gonna hit the canoe liveries, and look to the places where the people who have never been in a canoe dump all the time.
