Alabama, by way of Detroit, Tampa Bay, Alabama and
I'm in a funk.
Been finding stuff but nuthin great lately and I am tired of it.
A few wheaties used to thrill me but that ain't cutting it anymore.
What to do?
Why the one thing that has always worked in the past of course, load up some tunes and rock out...always an attitude changer and I don't mean I need more cowbell.

In this case I need that driving bass beat or at least a ton of low notes, couple that with some heavy drums and if that don't get your motor running I don't know what will.

I have tons of songs but I picked out just a few from my list to share in case any of you need a pick me up, too.
Sure most of them are old, I am an old guy, but I lived through the 60's and 70's when music was...music.

Enjoy, and use them if you need to.

Some Michigan boys...we always knew how to rock in that state...

Most Allman Brother's tunes can work...a driving bass AND double drum sets...

J Geils...one minute in it picks up...

Of course, Boston...

Gotta have some Bob Seger in a list like this, Michigan again...

What the heck, one more Seger song just because I like it.
In the old days from the beginning he had tons of ballads and slow songs too before the rest of the country finally noticed him but this is how those that we who grew up with him remember him best...
Starts out with a great growl...funny video too....

One more Michigan group the MC5...their live shows were incredible, one of the greatest bands that should have been but never was...

If someone is in a coma you play them this one...

Youngest of the bunch...

That playlist is dating you Digger! Although I fee your pain when it comes to finding good stuff. Only a few odd pieces of silver and on phat gold ring so far this year. But I've realized after going through my spreadsheets from the last couple of years that this is the slow time and things pick up starting about mid-May.

Oh, that playlist is dating you... hehe and I like the choices.

Well my mojo has been can slaw and pennies. [emoji22] Bout all I'm good at finding! But I keep digging those beeps

I feel your pain. I am stuck land detecting for clad at this time. No gold, no silver nothing old. Just getting out is worth it to me at this point in my life.

GEE Digger,, I must be a lot older than you. I remember some of them songs, But I go back to the 50's and 60's songs. I grew up roller skating to the old time music.. God,, How old am I ? KEN :D

Listen carefully Digger..."Heavy" has hi-hat but no other cymbal work in the entire tune...unique, and it helps to make the song,well..heavy. Cymbals break up bars and measures, without them it all flows together.
Don't forget to download "Roller" from April Wine!
I hope your mojo returns!

I can't really feel sorry for you after finding all that clad on the sledding hill:p

Ha, wait till May....no way!

That sure is dating me...songs from my youth but great music is still great music.
I have hundreds of albums, same with tapes, lots of CD's...I have been collecting music since I bought my first 45's in the 60's.
Tons of good stuff but this is a good start.

Going by the 60's lingo...
These songs are heavy man, heavy.
Peace.

Nice playlist Digger, I don't think it dates you though, I grew up listening to the same stuff in the 70s and 80s , My kids listen to some of it too. Great music will never die cause it's no longer being made. Maybe some C.S.N.Y for the playlist? I'd post it but I don't know how..... Now I'm dating myself.

after 38 detecting hours i finally broke my silver slump today! keep at it man, the finds will come!

Good tunes Digger. I'm partial to the GFR and the Collective Soul tunes. I enjoy Collective Soul enough to have 8 of their CDs. Dragonfire, that Uriah Heep was a great blast from the past.

These are also fun.

I wish I could listen to tunes while also hearing what my machine is telling me.

Thanks man...some good music there.

A few years ago I read a post from a total noob and he was young.
He wondered how many others listened to music while they hunted while still listening for signals like he did.
I told him he was crazy but if that is how he wanted to do it more power to him.
Most other comments about this mentioned something about how they really didn't think he actually got what this hobby was all about.

I swung many hours from my last silver to my most recent and it was just a rosie. In the process I dug a very strange thing I can not identify, it may actually be your mojo! if so, I'm keeping it for randsome !

Digger, this one played from the thumb drive in my car today during my commute and I thought of this thread. Here's a drivin' bass line. Enjoy.
