Just posting this to share some things I've found when I was a kid, and since I picked up this hobby again in the last year or so...
These were found around 2000-2001. I was in about 10 years old when I found them... I believe the center plate is from the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World's_Columbian_Exposition) These were all located in the same area, another find with them can be seen furthest right in the image below. It is from the Hudson-Fulton Celebration in 1909. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson–Fulton_Celebration)
Also in this image is a Scout Handkerchief slide from the 1960s (?) and the cap to a Triple Refined Deadshot Gunpowder tin sold around 1865 (AG Fay,Potter, and Cilley - Mass. Powder Works)
Here are my coins and jewelry. Earliest is an 1865 Indian cent. There is also a 1903 Indian Cent I found heads up right on top of the soil, strangely enough. The rosary beads have "FRANCE" on the cross. The ring is lapis lazuli, I think. There are 2 buttons that seem old as well, one has "GILT" written on the back.
Recent find. Bottle is in good shape, believe this is around 100 years old.
Miscellaneous relics found over the years. There was a horseshoe found near that axehead. There havent been horses at that location in a long time which makes me think there may be old coins around as well.
These finds represent a bit of excitement when I pulled them out of the ground, and I still get a kick out of looking at them now. Hope you all do too.
Thanks.
