Found this honker bullet yesterday hunting a private yard. It’s over 2.25 inches long and 27 grams. I took to a gun shop and the owner’s eyes bugged out and he asked where I got it. He has no idea what it is other than it’s old and black powder. In fact he told me to be very careful with it.

He took some pictures of it and sent them to a man who he believes can identify it. Said it might be from a Sharp’s carbine.

The shop owner was right. Be careful with it. Looks like a rimfire round, being as there's no primer in the center of the headstamp. What does the diameter of the bullet measure? That dimension will help quite a bit in identifying it.
