medallion found. Looks like a coin?

First hunt of the year, up here in Northern Illinois...found this in a local park (surface find)

Not sure what it is...


any ideas?

Actually, I think I found it...

a 1/2 Tallero from Croatia. Looks to have been minted between 1731-1735

If it's real, it's pretty cool

ETA: I think it's not real...the real one would be silver and not bronze colored....if it IS real then it's from 1735, which would be by FAR my oldest coin

Ah just tell everyone some 18th century Alchemist got a hold of it and failed like the rest of them... but he came close... :laughing:

I'm gonna dig out my scale and weigh it...that might help to tell me if it's real or not. I'm leaning towards it NOT being real, mainly because I couldn't get that lucky, but also because of the color (I've never seen silver tarnish that color), and the condition.


although the reproductions I've found all have another date on it...and I can't see that on the one I found
