Hey ya'll!
I'm using an old GTA Ultra 1000 with 9x12 elliptical coil. I used to just use it on dry sand, which worked quite well, but recently I've been branching out into dirt detecting and I feel like I can't find the deep stuff. So I'm thinking about an upgrade.
The first option is to upgrade to the monster 10x14 DD coil. I'm thinking this could increase the depth of finds. Pros/cons?
But maybe that won't cut it on an older machine like mine, and I just need a new detector if I want to find any deeper coins. So here's my list of wants:
- Close to turn on and go (no manual ground balance)
- Good on dry sand and dirt (no need for wet)
- deeeep detector for old silver
- I also look for gold jewelry, so a decent detector for that too, but no prospecting
- 700 max, cheaper the better (unless it'd be better to keep saving for something better, and then I'll take suggestions on that too)
- I'd like a visual display of some sort
