So the Simplex learning continues on my property (house built 1933). This afternoon I get a signal in the low 90's just a few feet from where I found the 1941 Quarter last week. I dig and dig and nothing. The Pro Pointer is going off in multiple spots. Not sure if there are multiple targets. Finally I give up for a break. After a bit the curiosity gets to me and I am not willing to give up on a low 90's signal. I get back out there and dig more. Finally at 10 inches I hit something big. It took a while to get it out but appears to be an axe head. Not sure how old this is. Is it normal for axe heads to register in the low 90's? (it registered the same out of the hole)

Congrats on the cool dig! Metaladdict is right about the big metal high tones. I remember the high tones I got from a couple axe head finds. I recall wishfully thinking "silver dollar?" when it turned out to be a hatchet head nearly a foot deep.
