Hey there everyone! I have always wanted to give metal detecting a try, and the deal I got on a Pioneer 202 was too good to pass up. I live in Salt Lake City and have been out 4 times in the first week. Lots to learn for sure!!

Its been fun to come on here and read all of your success stories. In 4 days my oldest coin has been a 1964 nickel and I hope to start finding some silver soon.

If anyone wants to share any good places to hunt in the Salt Lake City, UT area I'd be very grateful.

Howdy and big welcome from central Arkansas, land of totyards...my best suggestion to start learning your machine is to start with your own front and back yards if ya gottem! Once you have finished them up, go find some open elementary school playgrounds since classes are now out and hit them early in the mornings...when no people are around. You will get enough coins to be encouraging and to help you learn your machine!
